Two more speculative markets

Our first market, Lightspeed, is a new science fiction magazine from the same people who put out Fantasy Magazine. The editors want stories between 1000 and 7500 words long (preferably under 5000 words). Payment is 5¢/word, on acceptance. Reprints will be used occassionally, and are bought at the rate of 1¢/word. The magazine uses an online submissions manager, and simultaneous submissions are not accepted.

Flash Me Magazine will be publishing an all-speculative issue on Halloween. The submission period opens April 30th, so get your stories ready. Submit science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories no longer than 1000 words long. Reprints will be considered, but simultaneous submissions will not. Payment for accepted stories is $25 and a year's subscription.

If you're looking for a gift for a horror fan, Amazon has a three-disc set of the Stephen King mini-series Nightmares & Dreamscapes for only $17.49. The boxed set includes all eight episodes, plus interviews, an unaired extended episode, and several other features. I haven't seen the whole series, but the "Battleground" episode was awesome.

I've got some things I could send to that flash fiction market. Gonna check it out.

Good luck Charles! They open to subs April 30th. I'll post a link in "Market News" on the sidebar when it gets close.

Loved the Nightmares and Dreamscapes series. The one about the hitman starring William Hurt is pretty awesome.

Yeah, that was "Battleground," right? Definitely the best one I saw.
